Two Muddy Boots on the Farm
Work with us to grow a farm!
We will be working towards starting a smallholding at our sister site in Balcombe, where we will grow edible crops over the summer season in outdoor vegetable beds and in a polytunnel. We will also be preparing an area for two small cows, pigs, and chickens.

The children will be helping with all aspects of the fledgling small farm – preparing the vegetable area, sowing seeds and caring and bringing on the plants as they grow, and then harvesting them and eating them.

Regular attendees will have their own vegetable patch where they can, with our guidance, choose what to grow.

The children will be involved in all aspects of planning, managing, growing and harvesting of edible crops and the cropping sites.

With the animals they will be involved in caring for chickens (subject to avian flu requirements) and raising chicks in an incubator; and also preparing an area for the imminent arrival of two small cows and a pig or two.
