Bow Drill and Natural Cordage Workshop

This day is aimed at Forest School or Outdoor practitioners, or any interested adult 18+.

​

We will cover making and drying natural cordage from nettles and brambles, and other fibres, to form part of a bow drill. We will learn about what wood to use to make the drill and then harvest some, and then each participant will make their own drill set. We will practise using the the drill, and hopefully successfully light a small fire.

​

No prior experience necessary, and all materials provided. You take home your own finished bow drill set at the end. Tea/coffee/biscuits provided, please bring your own packed lunch.
